Home Builders Association (HBA)

NAHB is a trade association that helps promote the policies that make housing a national priority. Since 1942, NAHB has been serving its members, the housing industry, and the public at large. NAHB exists to represent the building industry by serving its members and affiliated state and local builders association. To achieve an overall mission of member satisfaction, NAHB concentrates on the following goals:

Balanced national legislative, regulatory, and judicial public policy.
Public appreciation for the importance of housing and those who provide it.
The premier resource for industry information, education, research, and technical expertise.
Improved business performance of its members and affiliates.
Effective management of staff, financial, and physical resources to satisfy the association’s needs.

Green Built Michigan

Green Built began as a local organization. Founded in 2000 by the Home & Building Association of Greater Grand Rapids (HBAGGR), it was one of the first (and one of only five home builder association green building programs across the country) such organizations in the country. In 2006, leaders from Green Built recognized the need and potential for expanding their efforts on a statewide basis becoming the first state-wide green building organization. Initially housed in Grand Rapids, Green Built moved its headquarters to Lansing in 2007.

National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI)

Each member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry is pledged to observe high standards of honesty, integrity and responsibility in the conduct of business by:

Promoting in good faith only those products and services which are known to be functionally and economically sound, and which are known to be consistent with objective standards of health and safety.
Making all advertising and sales promotion factually accurate, avoiding those practices which tend to mislead or deceive the customer.
Writing all contracts and warranties such that they comply with federal, state, and local laws.
Promptly acknowledging and taking appropriate action on all customer complaints.
Refraining from any act intended to restrain trade or suppress competition.
Attaining and retaining insurance as required by federal, state, and local authorities.
Attaining and retaining licensing and/or registration as required by federal, state, and local authorities.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC)

Associated Builders and Contractors is the industry's force for merit shop construction, having coined the term to describe a method of doing business that rewards people based on their skills, knowledge and abilities - not their membership or ranking in an organization or group. Work should be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder regardless of labor affiliations. ABC believes that union and merit shop (Open Shop) contractors should work in harmony.

ABC and it's members support sound legislation in the areas of workers' compensation, safety, and unemployment compensation.
ABC and it's members believe legislation embraces fair play for both employer and employee that is the underpinning of our free enterprise system. Laws should protect the rights of employees to work regardless of membership or nonmembership in a labor organization.
ABC Promotes and defends the individual's rights to unlimited opportunities. Merit shop construction provides unlimited growth and career advancement to workers who recognize the value of hard work and dedication. Skill development and experience lead up the path of personal career growth.
